Australian Placings at 2008 WGC Bridgestone

2008 World Golf Championships Day 2:

Australia's Peter Lonard hit a -4, 66 overnight at the WGC Bridgestone at Firestone but he wasn't alone, but clearly in the zone and on the phone. To take him within 2 strokes of overnight leader Vijay Singh at -5. Stuart Appleby also hit 66 and is sitting on -4 after starting the day at even. Phil Mickleson also hit a 66 which sees him sneak into 2nd place.

Trevor 'obviously not Australian, but what a story' Immelman, had a great round hitting -6 but because of his elegant 5+ the day before he is still sitting on -1. Lets see if he can do it again tonight shall we. Australia's Aaron Baddeley also managed to pull a stoke closer to the leaders closing the day at at +8.

Lonard played very confidently last night and if he can keep his cool is absolutely in with a chance. Not to count out Appleby, who, if I could predict the future is probably who I'd pick to lead the Aussies, but I can't so if I'm wrong it doesn't count.
